How did you get started with yoga? I actually wanted to teach step aerobics in college but they wouldn’t hire me unless I also taught yoga. So I did not mean to start yoga. Over time, I got more flexible and was in less pain. Even better - I was handling my stress way better than most of my friends. I fell in love with yoga and I’ve never looked back.

How has yoga influenced your life and who you are as a person?
Yoga is who I am now. I’ve been teaching and practicing since I was 20 so most of my major life decisions have revolved around yoga. Nervous before my wedding? I breathed through it. Going through family drama? I use the tools of self-inquiry. I do my best to live my yoga every single day.
What helps you get back on your mat when you’re feeling unmotivated? I set a timer for just 2 minutes and get on my mat. Often, after I’ve done just those 2 minutes I feel better and want to practice longer. But sometimes 2 minutes is all I can handle. Creating shorter, more frequent practices helps me stay consistent.
What’s your favorite yoga related book? So many good ones! This week I choose True Yoga by Jennie Lee. It provides a very practical approach to living the 8 limbs of yoga. We are proud to participate at their Event – Come join the Fun, you deserve it!!!
